Abuse these, and you’ll never play Stardew Valley the same way again. Watch on Youtube

1. Pro Stardew Valley Players Do Use these Cooked Meals

Best stardew Valley Food

Most dishes in Stardew are hot garbage… but a few are god-tier. Roots Platter gives +4 attack, which drastically increases your damage. Lobster Bisque makes fishing a breeze. Farmers Lunch? That’s how you get iridium quality crops. And never forget: stacks of coffee. Being slow is a crime. Stardew doesn’t have diminishing returns, so stack your buffs and surpass your limits.

2. Bring Two Weapons to Skull Cavern

Pro Stardew Valley Players can be unhinged at times… Want to dominate the dangerous version of Skull Cavern with monster musk? Bring two weapons. Use a hammer to abuse the special move, and a sword to finish off anything still standing. Double fully buffed weapons are cracked. Why choose between sword or hammer? Use both.

3. Slingshot Is Meta. Deal With It

You want more iridium ore? Then get deeper in Skull Cavern. The deeper you go, the better the loot. What’s holding you back? Your pickaxe. Pro players use the slingshot with explosive ammo. Yes, the controls are clunky. Yes, it’s annoying at first. But it’s the best mining tool in the game. Practice until it clicks. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

4. Unlock the Shortcuts

After you have completed the community center you will be given the privilege of unlocking a bunch of shortcuts around the valley from Robin for only 250 thousand gold. These shortcuts are no joke, unlock them. Do not underestimate them! This price is nothing when compared to the absolute convenience that they will give you.

5. Stockpile Coal in Year One

The first year in your playthrough is the most important… For a reason that you may not expect. Our boy Clint has this really weird mechanic where he will sell coal for a much higher price from the second year onwards. Solution? Ensure that you made enough gold in the first year so that you can buy a ton of coal from him in the first year. Stock up on coal now, you are going to need loads of coal during your entire playthrough.  Don’t buy high and sell low…

6. Use Deluxe Worm Bins

Fishing is always fun, whether its in the early game or the super late game… Naturally we should always be using bait to ensure that we actually get to fish!! Bait is relatively cheap from Willie however we have something new now. Deluxe bait. Deluxe bait is basically regular bait, but on steroids. Make use of Deluxe worm bins! Look at how expensive deluxe bait is from willie! No! Deluxe worm bins are actually absolutely good! Regular worm bins such, deluxe bins yikes. Really gosh darn good.

7. The Wheat Trick

Wheat trick in Stardew Valley

Pro stardew valley players know that there are two days in summer that are guaranteed to rain. The thirteenth and the twenty sixth. And you are guaranteed to have green rain as well. This is why pro players plant absolute acres of wheat on their farms and do absolutely nothing to these fields! Do no water these fields, do not use sprinklers, just wait. It will rain four times, and you will have acres of wheat to harvest with your scythe. Go make beer, feed hay to your animals. Either way, do this on your playthrough.

8. Crimsonfish Pond = Passive Income

As you know legendary fish can now be dropped into fish ponds, and you already know that the Legend is the best fish for this. However you can catch a crimson fish extremely easily in your first year, and the fish pond is really easy to build. So if you do not have a crimson fish fish pond by mid summer, you’re missing out on free massive money.

9. Lobster Bisque > Seafoam Pudding

Pro Stardew Valley Players do not need fishing buffs, however if they did. Seafoam pudding cooked with Qi Seasoning is the best fishing meal in the game. It will enable you to get the iridium Kobus statue but the truth of the matter is that this stuff is just too difficult to craft.. Seafoam pudding is expensive… Firstly, pro players don’t need food buffs to catch hard fish, however if they did, they’d just use lobster bisque. Plus tree fishing for a single lobster and some milk. Now that is high value for money.

10. Use a Hammer… or Two

If for some reason you have no intention of using two weapons, then the only weapon you should be using is the hammer. Any hammer!!! Any hammer will do in this game… Now, pro players will only use the conqueror enchantment as that enables them to defeat mummies without bombs but if you struggle glitching the special move for maximum damage, then the artful enchantment combined with the acrobat profession is absolutely perfectly fine. Allowing you to spam the special move as it drastically reduces the cooldown of special moves

11. Make fishing easier in stardew valley

Fishing in the early game is absolutely painful. You wait forever to get a bite and then you just get trash… Pro players do one thing that you do not! Buy the training fishing rod, meant for new players who are still learning how to fish. This will enable you to exclusively get perfect catches, allowing you to rapidly level up your fishing skill which will then allow you to upgrade your fishing rod considerably quicker than allowing you to use bait. Do this in a new playthrough, it is worth it.

12. Skip Regular Sprinklers

Sprinklers in Stardew Valley

This might be controversial but I do not care!!! Skip regular quality sprinklers! They’re just absolutely not worth it in any way. Skip them and go straight to quality sprinklers. They’re much easier to use, and are not actually that much worse than iridium sprinklers. With Iridium sprinklers being just 7% more efficient.

13. Fertilize Your Trees

If you want to absolutely print gold in this game, you will need kegs. Kegs need oak resin, meaning you need loads of trees with tappers on them. Growing trees in this game is considerably frustrating, slow and full of unknowns… use tree fertilizers. Without these, your trees will all grow at different speeds and take considerably longer. Tree fertilizers are worth every Penny.

14. Slime Hutch Profit

Slime hutch layout in stardew valley

I will admit it. Pro players do not use slime hutches… However I do! Get a slime hutch, fill it up with slimes exactly like this! You can have a maximum of twenty slimes and you can squeeze them into this tiny space. Ensure you have an iridium sprinkler ensuring that they always water, and make absolutely sure that there is flooring on the side where they live. Then just come back after a week for a full slime hutch of egg sacks! Collect them all, drop them all into slime egg presses and then sell the eggs for profit.

15. Replicate Star Shards

Crystalarium Setup

Another thing that pro players do not do… Most people will be duplicating jades for staircases or diamonds for gold. However I prefer to replicate star shards! They are just ever so slightly less profitable than diamonds, but look at how cool these minerals look. Worth it in my opinion. Crazy but can be true.

16. Coops Are for Rabbits Only

There is only one use for a coop in this entire game. You might know what I am talking about. Rabbits. Happy rabbits will give you iridium rabbits feet, the absolute best item in the game for gifting purposes. I have seen players ignore every villager, and then get them all to max hearts in like two seasons using rabbits feet only. This is much easier with an auto petter but best of luck getting one of those.

17. Coffee Empire

Coffee In Stardew Valley

Coffee grows in two seasons, it regrows every two days and you will get four coffee beans per harvest! You absolutely need one junimo hut surrounded by coffee on your farm. After those two short seasons, you’ll have enough coffee to last an entire year. Never have an excuse for being slow. Be fast, drink coffee, constantly…. You won’t regret it.

18. Monster Musk = Loot Bonanza

Monsters are one of the best ways to get loads of loot in this game. Get a burglar ring and a hot java ring and just absolutely slay enemies for loot. All of this is dramatically increased with the use of Monster musk! When I first saw monster musk I thought, why the heck would I intentionally make the mines harder. Obviously its for a greater challenge and for more loot. Use monster musk.

19. Win the Luau Every Year

The annual stardew valley luau is one of the few festivals that you need to visit every single year. Bring a gold quality cheese for the best possible result, it is that easy. This will increase the hearts of every single person in the town by half a heart… That is not insignificant.. Attend the Luau and win every year.

20. Enable Tool Hit Location

Best Pro Stardew Valley Settings

Head into the settings and turn on the show tool hit location settings. This will prevent you from hoeing the same spot twice and wasting energy

Twenty game-changing tips that only Pro Stardew Valley players know about. If you’ve made it this far, you’re no casual farmer… you’re well on your way to dominating Pelican Town like a true pro. Whether it’s abusing food buffs, optimizing your weapons, or stacking passive income with minimal effort. These are the moves that separate legends from beginners.
