You are going to need tons of Iridium Ore in Stardew Valley, it is crucial to your success. Here is the easiest way to Farm Iridium Ore In Stardew Valley 1.6. With this iridium guide, you will be swimming in the stuff.. You will have so much Iridium Ore, you might start selling the stuff. Watch on Youtube

1. Time is your biggest blocker in the skull cavern

Tents In Stardew Valley

Time is our biggest enemy when farming for iridium ore!! So make sure you get to the skull cavern as easily as possible. You can do this by either using a desert warp totem or a desert obelisk, however there is a new way to save time now!  Use a tent on the night before your skull cavern journey right outside the skull cavern, allowing you to effectively be in the skull cavern and mining at literally 6am… This method is unmatched.

2. How to get Staircases In Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley Staircase

You are absolutely going to need some staircases if you want to succeed, if you’re poor bring at least ten staircases and use them to skin any infested floor. These floors will ruin your day, so make absolutely sure that you skip them. If you have loads of staircases, keep watching to see how to use them in the most effective way that will ensure you get more iridium than you’ll ever need.  To get staircases easily duplicate jades with crystallariums and trade them in on Sundays for staircases at the desert trader.

3. Best Trinket For mining In Stardew Valley

Perfect Ice Rod Stardew

The latest 1.6 update has given us Trinkets, since our goal is iridium and iridium only the best trinket you can use for this is the Ice Rod. You could use the parrot ring, however our aim is to avoid combat so it won’t be of much use. The Ice rod will basically just freeze enemies in place allowing you to focus on finding ladders and mining iridium ore. Make sure to reroll the ice rod with an anvil until you get a perfect ice rod. A perfect ice rod freezes enemies every three seconds for four entire seconds!! It is truly worth the sacrifice.

4. Avoid Monster Musk

Monster Musk Stardew Valley

This tip is so obvious! Do not use the dangerous version of the skull cavern if you are after iridium ore! And make absolutely sure that you do not use monster musk!! There is a time and place for this, this is neither.

5. Best food for iridium ore in stardew valley

You will need food in the mines, bring any food that is cheap and easy to obtain. You can buy salads from Gus for a very good price or you can use cheese that you made on your own farm. Make sure that the food you bring does not have buffs as they will override your crucial buffs.

6. Best buffs for farming iridium ore

Best Food For Iridium Ore Farming Stardew Valley

You need to drink coffee and you need to eat spicy eel, these two combined will give you plus two to your speed. The speed here is absolutely crucial for your success. It seems annoying but ensure that you bring enough coffee to last the entire run!! There is only thousands of iridium ore on the line, it’s worth it. Additionally read both way of the wind books to get even more speed. This is why you should bring non buffing food for health and energy.

7. Luck in the skull cavern for iridium ore

Best Rings In Stardew Valley

Luck isn’t as important but it does help you find ladders quicker, so wear two lucky rings combined with two iridium bands. The iridium bands give excellent magnetism and act as a light source. If you prefer other rings go with those, however we won’t really be utilizing them for iridium farming.  Our aim is to avoid combat as much as possible.

8. upgraded tools for iridium farming.

You absolutely need to enchant your iridium pick ax.. Fortunately there are two really good options. First you could use the powerful enchantment which will allow you to break iridium nodes with only three hits. Then we have the swift enchantment which allows you to hit nodes thirty percent faster. Both are good, go with your gut here.

9. slingshot loaded with explosive ammo

Listen, the slingshot is most definitely the best option here however I know many hate it! Use the slingshot if you want to,  but either way you need to bring a couple bombs with you. The price of bombs has increased substantially since the latest update so consider crafting them if you have the resources.

10. Statue of the dwarf king

Statue Of The Dwarf King

The new statue of the dwarf king will give you an option between two random buffs every day. The best option here for iridium farming is either the +1 ore when mining nodes or the greater chance to find ladders. Either of these two options are excellent, the rest are not bad but don’t really help us on our goal here.

Getting +1 per node is just absolutely busted,  you will mine hundreds of iridium nodes in a single run and trust me, it adds up… And then finding ladders quicker, this is just a no brainer. Naturally the iridium has a high chance of appearing the deeper you get, so finding ladders faster is also a no brainer. However bonus ore per node is better if you are utilizing staircases.

11. Stardew Valley Statue of blessing

The statue of blessing is the second buff that we can take advantage of. Ideally we would get the Blessing of speed since more speed is always the answer or the blessing of luck to help us find ladders quicker. Either of these two options is incredible, the rest are absolutely useless in the mines.

12. How to farm iridium ore in stardew valley

Tons of Iridium Ore In The Skull Cavern

Okay so that is everything we need, now it’s time for strategy, and naturally we should take advantage of how the game was made. The game is coded in such a way that there is an iridium boost, and this boost only really kicks in from floor one hundred onwards and it maxes at floor 5700 where there is a 100% chance to find iridium, of course this is not possible however we can use this fact to our advantage . Floor 1 to 99 are all kinda garbage, so your first and main goal is to get to floor 100 as quickly as possible.

Ideally you would run with a minimum of 100 staircases, and then use all of those staircases immediately without any distraction. As soon as you land on a floor, use the staircase. If you time this perfectly you can get to floor one hundred by 7am, giving you the entire day to farm for iridium ore on the good floors. The entire journey to 100 is futile, so do not get distracted! Even if you find iridium ore on floor 40, skip it and keep on diving deeper.

Once you have hit floor one hundred you now have two options. You can either journey through the mines how you normally would, using bombs, a slingshot or your pick ax to farm rocks and nodes to find ladders and slowly creep deeper into the mines. Since we are already on floor 100, this method can work well and can still get you an absolute boat load of iridium ore, however there is a slightly better way to do this.

Slingshot strategy in skull cavern

If you have many, and I mean many staircases then this method is going to shock you. It really is that effective.. Once you are on floor one hundred, continue to use staircases, and if you find iridium ore near the entrance, shoot it with your sling shot, collect the ore and continue your adventure down  the skull cavern. This method will allow you to surpass the limits of time.

Once again, if there are nodes but they are far from the entrance, then leave them and use a staircase. Do not get distracted from your mission. If you use this method, you will have thousands of iridium ore at your disposal after a single skull cavern journey. You can also do this with bombs; it is just not quite as effective, but yeah, you can still stack up loads of iridium.

13. Do not go to bed if you want tons of iridium ore.

This is important. There are only so many in game hours at our disposal, so we need to maximize every hour we have. If you are like me, you’ll just pass out and take the little gold loss penalty.  If you do not want to lose any gold, then bring a farm warp totem with you and leave in time to get to your bed. Now once again, you could also leave the skull cavern and sleep in a tent right outside the skull cavern as well, this method could be quicker than trying to get back to your bed. Either way, don’t you dare leave before 1am.. Time is money, friend.

14. Getting Rich With Iridium Bars In Stardew Valley

Getting Rich In Stardew Valley With Iridium Ore

With such vast amounts of Iridium ore we will most definitely have surplus for us to sell and make huge profits on. Fortunately this is very simple, just ensure that you have the black smith profession as this increases the sell price per bar by fifty percent. Then get these new Heavy Furnaces.

These things are absolutely incredible because they allow you to smelt up five bars at the same time. They also require less coal than regular furnaces and they have a chance to produce a bonus extra iridium bar, effectively allowing you to amass thousands of bars!!! Look at how much money I made from a single skull cavern run… This could be the most profitable thing you can do in the entire game.

And that’s it. Now you know the easiest way to farm Iridium Ore in Stardew Valley, especially with all the new tricks from the 1.6 update.
