You see prismatic shards are important, these little magical gems are the key to move you from the mid game to the late game. Prismatic shards will push your playthrough to the next level. From getting a galaxy sword which will then allow you to get infinity weapons!! To destroying your prismatic shards at the forge to enchant all of your tools and weapons. Some of the enchantments will make such a huge difference that you may start playing the game entirely differently.
If you’re really swimming in these rare glorious gems of perfection then you are going to want to trade in three of these for a single magic rock candy. This sounds like a terrible idea, however the magic rock candy is worthy enough to sacrifice three prismatic shards for.
You can drop gems like rubies or amethysts into a Junimo hut to choose the color of your Junimos. Pretty cool if you ask me, just not as cool as dropping a prismatic shard into a Junimo hut to cause your Junimos to change colors!! Look at this, too gosh darn cool man.
There is another incredible use for Prismatic shards that you have all been neglecting!! Tch, I bet you didn’t see this one coming.. If you’re going to flex on the villagers, then do it in style. Use prismatic shards to craft prismatic clothing.. It’s the natural final use of your glorious little magical colorful shards. If you still have any left after this, give them to Haley. She loves prismatic shards.
Okay Listen I got that Shard addition, so let’s get straight into these prismatic shard farming methods.
2.1. Prismatic Shards From Geodes
You can indeed get Prismatic Shards from omni geodes! Listen, this is really unreliable however you should be cracking open tons of omni geodes regardless. There are many artifacts and minerals that you need for the museum, there is a gosh darn stardrop in it for you if you complete it. So go to the farm for some omni geodes.
Either enchant your Hoe with the generous enchantment, use a couple artifact totems in the dig site and get hundreds of omni geodes or use a burglar ring some monster musk and dive into the dangerous version of the mines and slat Carbon ghosts for two guaranteed omni geodes each. Either way, get those omni geodes, crack them open and enjoy your couple Prismatic shards.
2.2. Prismatic Shard From Defeating Enemies
Number two is a prismatic shard farming method with monsters! Serpents and mummies have a chance to drop prismatic shards. This is a very small and pathetic 0.1% chance which seems low… However, we can drastically improve our chances! First ensure you are diving into the dangerous version of the skull cavern, this will drastically increase the amount of enemies that will spawn.
Then drink up some Monster Musk. Once again, this will drastically increase the amount of enemies that spawn here, you will find absolute hordes of enemies… Ensure you are absolutely prepared for war because this will be war!! Now get yourself one of those new Monster Compendium books, which slightly increases the chances of finding loot after defeating enemies. This should increase that tiny 0.1% chance. Naturally, a burglar ring is non-negotiable.
The mighty Burglar ring will cause you to roll twice when defeating enemies, which dramatically increases your chances. Now just head into the skull cavern and slay, slay as many beasts as you can. Use the conqueror enchantment so that slaying mummies is easier. Enjoy your prismatic shards.
2.3. Golden Mystery Boxes
Number three is quite similar to omni geodes. Golden mystery boxes seem kinda hard to find…. Fortunately Regular Mysteries boxes are effortless to find, and you will find tons of these over your playthrough.
Never open a regular mystery box at Clint, it’s a scam. Instead trade in those boring regular mystery boxes for golden mystery boxes! These have a very low 0.8% chance to get a prismatic shard. Listen, this method isn’t that reliable but every single prismatic shard is a massive gain in power.
2.4. Stack Luck Buffs For Tons Of Treasure Floors
Number four is going to shock you… Wait for the best luck day. Grab two lucky rings, drink some boosted ginger ale and eat some boosted spicy eel. You’re gonna have tons of luck. Then grab as many staircases as you can. Head to the skull cavern and spam as many staircases as you can. Ignore everything except for treasure floors. Each treasure floor has a 4% chance to get a prismatic shard.
This seems low, trust me, it isn’t. This is a highly effective method of finding both prismatic shards and auto petters. You’ll start getting bored of these highly rare and valuable items.
2.5. Prismatic Shards At The Desert Festival
Number five is strange, but I had to include it. Before we get to the number one best way to absolutely farm and swim in prismatic shards, lemme show you the most unreliable way to get them. Wait for the desert festival, and head there every single day and just hope and pray that Emily has a stall. She will sell a single prismatic shard for only 500 calico eggs. A terribly unreliable way to get a prismatic shard.
2.6. Most Reliable Way To Get Prismatic Shards In Stardew Valley
The sixth and most reliable way to farm for prismatic shards, the cream of the crop. The ultimate best way to farm for prismatic shards. You’ll have so many shards you’ll start giving them away like candy…
This method has an added bonus in that you will also be swimming in Iridium ore!! All due to the simple beautiful fact that Iridium nodes have a massive three point five percent chance of dropping a prismatic Shard. This means that on average, it will take 29 iridium nodes to get a single prismatic shard. I know this sounds like a lot, but if you are capable of crushing the skull cavern, leveraging staircases, a slingshot or bombs. You will farm hundreds of iridium nodes in a single day.
I often end a run with over one thousand iridium ore and often at least five prismatic shards. This method does require tons of preparation however we are talking about farming for prismatic shards here. It’s easy if you fully prepare yourself. This method will inevitably get you tons of prismatic shards at the same time. It’s that easy.
2.7. the Most Reliable Way To Get Prismatic Shards In The Entire Game
Number seven, the only method in the entire game that will absolutely guarantee a prismatic shard. All with the help of a magical statue. A statue that will literally create a prismatic shard every single day. Fortunately this statue is super easy to get!!
Just befriend everyone, catch every fish, finish the museum, sell every crop in the game and a whole boat load of other things! I am sure you only need to play the game for like a couple hundred hours and you will reach true perfection! Sounds like a lot of work doesn’t it… Those prismatic shards sound kinda worth it don’t they…
