Stardew Valley furniture catalogues are the point where decorating stops being a daily shopping trip and becomes a proper project. You buy or find the catalogue once, then take the furniture it offers without paying for every chair. Here is where to get the seven main decorating catalogues and which ones I would chase first.

The seven Stardew Valley furniture catalogues
The ordinary Catalogue and Furniture Catalogue are different items. One is mainly your wallpaper-and-flooring collection; the other supplies a large furniture range. The themed catalogues add their own styles rather than upgrading one universal book.
| Catalogue | Where to get it | Price or requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Catalogue | Pierre’s General Store | 30,000g |
| Furniture Catalogue | Robin, after a farmhouse upgrade | 200,000g |
| Junimo Catalogue | Traveling Cart after CC or Joja completion | 70,000g; random stock |
| Wizard Catalogue | Krobus | 150,000g |
| Retro Catalogue | Traveling Cart | 110,000g; random stock |
| Joja Furniture Catalogue | JojaMart; later Traveling Cart after CC | 25,000g / 30,000g |
| Trash Catalogue | Search Garbage Cans | Rare find after 50 cans searched |
Start with the kind of decorating you want to do
If the walls and floors are the problem, Pierre’s Catalogue is the useful first purchase. If you want to furnish lots of rooms, Robin’s Furniture Catalogue is the larger investment. Buying a themed catalogue first is fine too if you already know exactly what you want to build.
I would not empty a first-year seed budget for a catalogue merely because the farm looks plain. Buy a few individual pieces while your income grows. Once you can afford the catalogue comfortably, the ability to try ideas without paying for each mistake is lovely.

Junimo and Wizard: two very different moods
The Junimo Catalogue is my choice for a cosy woodland area. It can appear at the Traveling Cart after either route’s main restoration projects are complete. The 10% stock chance means you should check repeatedly; missing it on Friday does not mean you did the unlock wrong.
The Wizard Catalogue is sold by Krobus, so sewer access is the main practical hurdle before you can buy it. It suits a magical study, a strange little shrine or a properly themed corner around the Slime Hutch. Pick a small area first so the furniture feels intentional instead of scattered across the farm.

Retro and Joja: check the Traveling Cart
The Retro Catalogue can appear at the Traveling Cart with a 10% stock chance. At 110,000g, it is worth knowing whether you actually want the style before you commit. The same advice applies to all these catalogues: preview the look, choose a room and then shop.
The Joja Furniture Catalogue costs 25,000g at JojaMart. If you restored the Community Center, you can instead find it in random Traveling Cart stock for 30,000g. You do not need to turn your whole playthrough into a Joja save just to put some corporate nonsense in the spare bedroom.
The Trash Catalogue takes patience
Search at least 50 Garbage Cans to become eligible, then each searched can has a 0.2% chance to produce the Trash Catalogue. The fiftieth can is not a guaranteed reward. A tiny chance remains a tiny chance even after you unlock it.
Check cans while you are already walking through town. Do not turn the whole day into a miserable circuit unless collecting it is your favourite current project. The catalogue gives you a different sort of decorating: worn furniture, clutter and a room that looks like somebody actually lives badly in it.
How I use catalogues without making a mess
Place the catalogue somewhere you can find it again, then work on one room or outdoor area. Start with the floor, choose the larger furniture and add smaller details last. Leave yourself a route through doors and toward anything you use every day.
A room can use pieces from several catalogues. You do not have to build a completely purple Wizard room just because the catalogue exists. Repeating a few colours and materials is usually enough to make mixed furniture feel deliberate.

What catalogues do not replace
Owning these catalogues does not automatically give you every decoration in the game. Festival rewards, unique items and other purchases can still matter. Do not sell a unique reward because you assume it will appear in a catalogue later.
Robin can also sell the Furniture Catalogue at her Desert Festival stall for 1,000 Calico Eggs when she is one of the vendors. That is an alternative worth knowing about, not a reason to postpone a decorating project forever. I would choose the available route that fits the save and then actually decorate something.
